According to William Floyd School District’s “Floyd’s 20/20 Vision,” we are building a culture that nurtures and creates high expectations for our students by incorporating character education programs. Educators are encouraged to teach principles of character education throughout the curriculum in their particular subject area. This course will present the benefits of teaching values and character in our school as part of our curriculum.  Within the program of Character Education, teachers are reminded of their responsibility as a role model and mentor.  Strategies for teaching values and controversial issues in schools, as well as social applications, are presented in this course. Moreover, educators will develop lessons and activities that can be utilized in the classroom and within the school environment to support students.
